https://diode.zone/videos/watch/2ceb48ea-3cef-4ffd-8fbc-f4caf679339d Here's a track inspired by one of my heroes, King Tubby. He revolutionized music with his experimental approach to studio effects and mixing, was one of the originators of "playing" a mixer, and helped spark an entire genre of music - dub. Recently I had the idea to combine my love of dub with my love of algorithmic music. This music is generated algorithmically using TidalCycles. Basically, I gave the computer some instructions on what to play (some ideas for rhythms and what chords/notes to play) and I let it do its thing. While it plays, I mix it and sometimes play other instruments on top of it- sort of like King Tubby did with reggae songs. The bassline, drums, and keyboard are all being played by TidalCycles, I'm doing the rest. Here's the code that's generating the music: https://pb.bleepboop.club/?6208b92e72da5730#DckKT344rCUes9S46BUMUH1QJzmuVUUHBYJZGJVRVoV3 Tue, 20 Oct 2026 14:56:53 GMT https://validator.w3.org/feed/docs/rss2.html PeerTube - https://diode.zone https://diode.zone/lazy-static/avatars/61b689b7-84d5-43c7-9fa8-e63a7fd1d952.png https://diode.zone/videos/watch/2ceb48ea-3cef-4ffd-8fbc-f4caf679339d All rights reserved, unless otherwise specified in the terms specified at https://diode.zone/about and potential licenses granted by each content's rightholder. https://diode.zone/w/6xHrbdGaD9tuDMa2xdeWeK;threadId=10408 https://diode.zone/w/6xHrbdGaD9tuDMa2xdeWeK;threadId=10408 Wed, 23 Dec 2020 17:32:43 GMT @root thank you!
