Thank you so much for all the work you're putting into open video platforms and tools. I think it's really important and a hard space to exist in because so much of it is dominated by YouTube.

Btw, regarding discord, I feel it's popular because it's polished, not because it's good. And I'm especially disappointed how many supposedly radical people jump into it because of its design. People basically throw their principles out the window (or don't have any lol) because it's pretty, talks to you in the loading messages, and builds a sort of "I'm your friend" flair.
I think it's important that we don't just give into it because sooner or later its end goal is to build a tech monopoly. Anything that's not a community developed and run project will follow this same pattern.

10 years ago it was skype, 5 years ago it was slack, today it's discord. In 5 years it'll be bloopchat or whatever the next tech bubble will be called.

If you made a matrix community, I'd definitely join, and it might be a nice overlap between "has modern features" that people like, and still being open and accessible to people who can't/ don't want to use discord for whatever reasons.
