https://diode.zone/videos/watch/d0e6f9c5-75e5-4d05-bd00-b9acbf681c23 Experimenting with a technique that's new to me... This starts with some physical setup several years ago, capturing the scanning pattern of DLPs as projected into glass beads and liquid on a large speaker we would play music and tones through. That texture would sit around as 191557_MVI_2949.MOV for about three years until a couple days ago when I was picking up Blender after several years away, and experimenting with the new-to-me denoising engines, getting some volumetric lighting effects I previously would have been way too impatient for. This uses a chain of 32 texture samplers set to different frames to get the light fading effects in Blender. It's a bit annoying, though I was hoping to extend it so that I can change the time offset a little bit per-pixel, for some interesting time/space distortion effects later. If not for that urge, you could get the same effect cheaper by preprocessing the video before using it as a texture.
