I got the idea to make Jeff the bee when I made Introducing Ganondorf and heard Jeff saying "thisisa" and it sounded like an insect’s wings buzzing. Now I picked it from my list of 2fideo ideas and added that Jeff the bee must collect honey (stolen from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqM904nX9Fw) and then creates Sigma.

This fideo took 2 days longer to make than expected because I had to figure out how to put the Jeff face on B.Va in Resolve. I have to learn how to do this anyway, so this was a great way to practise it. The tracking features of Resolve are amazing but properly putting that information on an overlay image is apparently not easy. With full 3D tracking from the colour tab, the image moved too fast, like the speed was being increased by 1.25 but otherwise it was perfect. I spent hours trying to solve this but was unsuccessful. In the fusion tab using the tracking node I could track B.Va’s face in 3D as well but the Overlay is being put on with its edges placed on the tracking points, so it’s very distorted and I found no way of keeping the aspect ratio of the overlay image and just moving, zooming and tilting it. The only other way i found was to use the tracking node with just one tracking point so it tracks the position two-dimensionally. Now I still have to apply rotation and zoom manually like in Video deluxe and when the tracked object moves out of screen, it’s still annoying (and hard for complicated movements) to manually track the movement off the screen.

When I had the idea for this video months ago, the plan was to actually just switch the hero and that’s it. But if you know me you know that I can’t just make a short bad video and so the idea expanded to mixing OW and TF2 together and to put Soldier in OW as I happen to have a lot of experience in doing that. This way, a simple bad 2fideo turned into 18 hours of work (which is why it’s later than 13:00 UTC) for a fideo that looks bad on the outside but surprises with high quality editing skillz on the inside.

Amarizo told me I should focus on my main channel first and finally get ready for regular uploads and he is right, but actually finishing something gives me motivation to continue with the other things. I hope I’ll finally be ready next Friday. The main problem I have is that I’m never satisfied with anything. I redo everything 1000 times and keep seeing things that are wrong or not good enough. And just like that, a whole year goes by while I rework my channel and my motivation shrinks, coupled with the constant self-doubts that I’m bad and not good enough and I can’t do anything so I should just stop. But then I remember Introducing Zelda, Ganondorf, Wonderful Patch and how much I improved and try to convince myself that I actually have created things to be proud of and there is no reason to doubt myself, but it’s not easy. See you next Friday.
