Mystery Slime

Icky Zone — Sat, 29 Oct 2022 05:03:55 GMT

video of a mysterious slimy substance on the ground. the video starts with it flipped over from how we found it revealing a less slimy, black, skin-like material on a bed of grey translucent jelly. we poke it with sticks and fingers and eventually flip it over, showing the slimy side which coats the tough skin.

Cool Hat

Icky Zone — Mon, 10 Oct 2022 23:32:59 GMT

a goofy nonbinary person stands, beaming, in a pale green bucket hat with the face of a toothy goblin on it, gripping the paws that hang down. they giggle and squeeze the paws, causing the ears on the hat to flap. they alternate ears quickly for a bit, and someone behind the camera says "That is awesome!" Finally they raise both ears and exclaim proudly "Hat!" before giving a thumbs up to the camera.

one molecule mouse

Icky Zone — Tue, 13 Sep 2022 01:49:08 GMT

short video of an extremely small mouse on some dirty concrete, filmed at a distance, through some weeds. the mouse nibbles at things in the ground, and is ocasionally startled into hopping by caws of nearby crows until it eventually scurries away. in the background you can also hear industrial vehicles and some seagulls screeching.

dance party

Icky Zone — Fri, 19 Aug 2022 02:07:24 GMT

filmed from first person perspective, two people stand in front of a wall-sized screen which tracks their movements with shadowy figures and a trail of rainbow colours as they dance to the song faintly heard in the background, Burn Baby Burn. a few other figures step into frame and the camera is very wobbly as it is being held while dancing. in the first few seconds, the small clack of my cane falling down is heard, followed by the two dancers saying "oh!" and giggling.

made a friend today

Icky Zone — Tue, 17 May 2022 07:51:51 GMT

a short video of a very tiny, black and white jumping spider (zebra spider?) crawling and jumping over my hand, with the sounds of birds chirping in the background. I turn my hand as I try to keep them in focus. When they pause to look in the direction of my leg, I lower my hand to allow them to jump to it. They climb down to the knee of my pants before the video ends.

Walking with a friend

Icky Zone — Sun, 17 Apr 2022 20:35:45 GMT

a mildly shakey video of the pavement of an alley. I am filming my feet, and a gentle flow of water running downhill. the water creeps its way through the ridges of the concrete, and is slowed by patches of grass and debris. I pick my way down alongside it, with wobbly, pigeon toed steps in green rubber boots. eventually, the water finds its way to a storm drain, and pools briefly in the cracked pavement and earth around it, before finally dripping down.

the sound in the video is various birdsongs throughout, with occassional hammering, the roar of an aeroplane, and finally, the dripping of the water landing inside the storm drain.

Skating Circles

Icky Zone — Sat, 24 Jul 2021 21:46:28 GMT

quick video of me practicing skating circles. i'm definitely making progress! pushing those edges for a tight turn Destroyed my knees though; i've been alternately laid up, practicing, and laid up again ever since 😭 thats #SkatingWhileDisabled

[ Video Description: a mostly silent video of me, a thin white-passing person with green hair, wearing black protective pads, skating circles around a small living room on lime green quad roller skates. I am wobbly and with beginner technique, and I fall down a couple of times, but there is noticeable improvement as I go. I also stop to adjust my action at one point. /end Video Description ]

lil bee in the big city.

[ Video Description: a recording of a bee perched casually on a bright yellow flower in a lush little garden. in the background there is noises of a busy street; sirens, cars, birds chirping, and people walking past. /end Video Description ]
