Experimenting with the PTR5518 flashing MakeCode blinky

Open Source Matters — Sat, 26 Oct 2019 07:00:00 GMT

I used the KB-link (KittenBot Nano:bit's programming daughterboard) to program a System-on-Module PTR5518 to blink Micro:bit's P8 using pins.digitalWritePin(DigitalPin.P8, 1). This pin translates to P0.18 on the NRF51822. It then sends the number out over radio using radio.sendNumber(c) to a regular Micro:bit which uses radio.onReceivedNumber to display this with basic.showNumber(receivedNumber).

Meowbit blinky led on edge connector

A quick upload to show the edge connector works... Using P1 on the 20pin edge connector to blink with a breakout board and an LED on a breadboard. I used the Yaboom Basic:bit.

Keep an eye on this channel or http://gbraad.nl/blog/ for a new article that introduces the Micro:bit and MakeCode introduction to programming.

Yahboom provides a great "study" web page for each robot device, these are often .rar files so you may have to un-zip them. (look for BreeZip as a free app. to do that): http://www.yahboom.net/study/spider:bit
