Without Seminar in April, we were not able to present our achievements and ambitions. So, we decided to make it online! It is time to announce Vulca Perspective for 2020-2021: ... <![CDATA[Happy new year (by Vulca European Program)]]> https://diode.zone/w/sizwZBGYsLbxb3AX6dnhcf https://diode.zone/w/sizwZBGYsLbxb3AX6dnhcf Fri, 10 Jan 2020 14:57:57 GMT At the beginning of 2020, Vulca represents an european community, with a multicultural and multidisciplinary background. It’s not only about a van, it is all women and men involved who share the same values and objectives to develop connections and mobility between 309 communities met on the road. To achieve these objectives, Vulca developed a specific methodology that appears in 2 tools : VULCA TOUR and VULCA SEMINAR .

2019 was a turning point in our story because we started to work on European projects, and to be successful we needed to make more tangible what we do to our community. In this sense, we created a WhatsApp group to gather all the M_Hacker(space)s we met on the road. Today 237 people are in this WhatsApp group. It is always useful to connect people together either for projects or events. The last seminar was also something new because, for the first time, we stepped out of our comfort zone - France, and organised it in Poland. It was only possible thanks to Zaklad team. For Vulca Seminar in 2019 we gathered again both researchers and M_Hackers to develop new projects. We are happy that we were able to make numerous connections, mostly between M_Hacker(space)s, but we have also assisted two researchers by connecting them with M_Hacker(space)s. These connections were valuable for developing distributed projects. One of them was initiated by a french municipality that wanted to organise distributed workshop in Europe, for which we found the partners and coordinated workshops followed by an exhibition.
What we will mostly remember about 2019 is the Makers Mobility Pilot Project. This pilot project represents the accomplishment of discussion with members of the European Parliament to develop a dedicated line of budget to better understand the needs of the M_Hackers movement regarding their mobility. With your support, we built a truly european consortium and even if we were not selected, Vulca will not end. It is just a continuation of what we have done since the beginning: creating connections between communities to develop mobility and document it.

We will continue in 2020 to promote and develop mobility while formalizing our methodology and approach to ensure the effectiveness of the connexion we made. To make Vulca actions more efficient we will have even greater openness towards our community which we wish to involve much more. Hence, our work for the year 2020 are the continuation of Vulca Tours with more Explorers, the creation of the Advisory Board and the start of the first overview of the M_Hacker movement from the field at the European scale. And of course, keep having fun through everything we do since 2015!

On behalf of all the Vulca team, We wish you all happy New Year, with passion and love to make European Citizens collaborating together.

Nicolas Fifre.
President of Vulca
