The Killdest - Brutal industrial techno patch on AE Modular and Olegtron 4060

This is the most "musical" I've gotten this synth so far, it's crunchy and loud, just the way I like rave music. If I manage to keep it up I might have to find a way to either arrange these sounds or play them live.

The Olegtron 4060 is sitting on top of the AE Modular kit because I ran out of 40cm patch cables so I had to move it closer to the patch points.

I can't say I understand much of what's happening here, it's a lot of chaotic interactions between signals and modules and plenty of happy accidents gently steered towards something I like.

Olegtron 4060 being used as the "brains" of an AE Modular synth patch

The Olegtron 4060 is a signal generator box built around the CD4060 CMOS chip, randomly connecting points on the patchboard yields complicated, rhythmic signals. Here I wired up this rowdy little boy to an AE Modular synthesizer. Two of the 4060's outputs are connected straight to the mixer, and then other outputs are connected to CV inputs all across the synthesizer, triggering sequencers and envelopes, modulating filters and oscillator frequencies, and generally causing havoc

I don't actually have the faintest idea what's going on inside the 4060, but that's all the charm. I do know that connecting transistors tends to add syncopation, LEDs add gating and alternating sequences, and capacitors change the timbre of the output, or introduce slopes and envelopes

I apologise for the poor video quality, unfortunately I only have this low-quality webcam. I'm going to try and find a wide-angle high definition webcam in the future
